September, 1998

A group of womyn affiliated with Affirmation, met in Salt Lake City before sessions of the Family Fellowship Conference on May 3, 1998. They decided it was important to form a group designed to meet the unique needs of Lesbians with Mormon background under the Affirmation umbrella. Eight womyn were in attendance at the first stages of "talking and developing ideas" for the new group.

A proposal was presented at the National Affirmation Conference in Portland, Oregon, in 1998. Womyn who attended the meeting brainstormed and made plans to set the foundation for this new national womyn's group.
