Call for Nominations for National Executive Director
Now's Your Chance to Make a Difference!
August, 1999
The Affirmation Charter provides a one calendar year term of office for the Executive Director. This means that Tia's term of office will expire on December 31st, 1999. After an event filled year in office, Tia has announced that she may not be running for re-election.
The Charter also provides that candidates for Executive Director must formally declare their candidacy in writing to the editor of AFFINITY no later than September 1st. (Further details are found in the Charter.)
Candidates will then submit an article to AFFINITY in support of their desire to serve as Director. Candidates (or their representative) will also be presented with an opportunity to speak at the Conference in October. They must be prepared to outline their vision and goals and to answer any questions.
Anyone who is even slightly interested in running is urged to place his/her name into candidacy.
Affirmation benefits when we have intelligent choices among a variety of candidates who care about moving Affirmation forward. Please do not be deterred by the responsibility of the office. Affirmation does not depend on one person alone; as many in the past have found, there are many who are willing to help.
To place your name into candidacy, please submit your name and a brief article to:
