LDS Family Services Moves into Former Playhouse
At State Street, the Show Goes On

For LDS Family Services, the show goes on. The controversial agency has just relocated to the Promised Valley Playhouse building in downtown Salt Lake.

"The old Playhouse is a perfect venue for the agency," says writer/activist Sonja Farnsworth. "LDS Family Services has spent years advising gays and lesbians to act as though they were straight. They've also performed an Oscar-worthy supporting role in the Church's struggle to defeat homosexuality--all against the menacing backdrop of current social science research."

LDS Social Services is owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the past the agency has been widely criticized for attempting to "cure" homosexuals and for providing explanations for the causes of homosexuality that are both offensive and unscientific.
