Filmmakers Document Homeless Gay Youth in Utah

Three young Utah filmmakers are working on a feature-length documentary about the lives of homeless LGBTQ youth in Utah. Through this project, Natalie Avery, Robert Guido, and Troy Williams are exploring the issues that brought these youth out of their homes. The filmmakers will follow their lives for one year, documenting how they live, where they sleep, and how they earn money.

The Salt Lake City United Way estimates that there are approximately 600 homeless youth in Salt Lake City, and it is estimated that 40% of that number identify as LGBTQ. A percentage of this group is also represented by gay and lesbian Mormons.
