Gay Mormon from Brazil Launches Portuguese Site
by Hugo Salinas
June 2005
Cezar Venancio, a gay returned missionary from Brazil, has just launched "Grupo Mórmon Gay," a site for gay Mormons who speak Portuguese. The site's purpose is "to share experiences, resolve concerns, and have fun." The site will eventually include pages not only in Portuguese, but in English and Spanish as well.
"This space will help us understand each other and support one another without persecution or conflict," writes Cezar. "We intend to create a virtual--as well as a real--community."
Cezar posted on the site an account of his coming out process. "The gospel is led by a just God," writes Cezar; "God understands me and will judge me justly."
