Affirmation Reaches Out to the Philippines

January 2006

Affirmation is looking for volunteers who are fluent in Tagalog, Cebuano, or Ilokano and could help translate a 400-word presentation webpage. The page provides basic information about Affirmation and can help thousands of gay Mormons who live in the Philippines and may not be fluent in English.

There are almost 540,000 Mormons living in the Philippines. Tagalog, Cebuano and Ilokano are among the seven languages most widely spoken by Church members worldwide. Tagalog ranks fourth and is used by some 170,000 Mormons.
