Affirmation Chile to Launch “Institute” Classes “We want to ‘unlearn’ old errors and explore what the scriptures really say” by Lisa Hansen May 2006 Leandro Valdés and Brus Leguás Contreras have just announced the launching of a series of "Institute" classes on the scriptures. The classes will be held in Valparaiso, but those living far away will be able to follow the classes online. "The classes will cover several different areas," says Brus. "First we'll learn more about scriptures in the Bible that deal with sexuality. We'll also study what Mormon, Christian, and Jewish writers have to say about those scriptures. Finally, we'll focus on what different religions say about homosexuality generally, and explore ways to reconcile our sexual orientation with our spirituality or religiosity." "We don't want to twist the meaning of the scriptures," says Brus. "We just want to 'unlearn' old errors and explore what the scriptures really say and don't say."
