Invitation to Share Stories of Saving Lives and Giving Hope
They Will Be Used in Anniversary Celebration and Sunstone Symposium

April 2007

In preparation for the 30th anniversary of Affirmation: Gay and Lesbian Mormons, we are inviting past and present members of Affirmation to share their stories. The topic is how Affirmation helped you, or how you helped the organization, to save lives and give hope to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex people from a Mormon background.

Send your stories either by to AffirmationSLCaol.com or by regular mail to Affirmation Salt Lake Chapter, P.O. Box 521106, SLC UT 84152.

Some of these stories will be used at the 30th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, May 27. Others will be used in a Sunstone Symposium (August 2007) presentation that will be part of commemorating this anniversary milestone.

Affirmation Salt Lake seeks to meet the needs of persons experiencing frustration or alienation from family, friends, and the Church because of their sexual orientation. When the journey to reconcile our gay selves with our Mormon spiritual and cultural heritage seems almost more than we can handle, Affirmation offers the opportunity for understanding and support from friends who travel the same path. Also included among the membership of Affirmation are many friends and family, Mormon and non-Mormon, gay and straight. Associating with them, and feeling their love and support is one of the greatest blessings to be obtained by joining and actively participating in Affirmation.

We meet bi-monthly, on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month, usually at 5 p.m.
