Mormon Senator Compares Gay People to Radical Muslims
Senator Chris Buttars: Gay People Practice “Pig Sex”
From a story at ABC 4 News
Mormon state senator Chris Buttars, a long time opponent of gay equality, is now comparing some in the gay community to radical Muslims. Buttars made this outrageous comment during an interview for an upcoming documentary about Prop 8. And his remarks come just a year after a coomnet from Buttars that offended many African-Americans.
In late January of this year, the Utah senator sat down for an interview with documentary maker Reed Cowan. Cowan’s documentary is called, “8: The Mormon Proposition.” In it, Buttars not only makes the comparison to radical Muslims, but also suggests that gays pose the greatest threat to America.
Sen. Chris Buttars: “Homosexuality will always be a sexual perversion. And you say that around here now and everybody goes nuts. But I don't care.”
Just one year ago, Buttars found himself in hot water locally and nationally for another comment on the senate floor. “This baby is black,” he said last year in reference to a bill. “This is a dark, ugly thing.”
“They're mean,” Buttars told Cowan about gays. “They want to talk about being nice. They're the meanest buggers I have ever seen.”
Seconds later, in the recorded intreview Buttars draws a comparison between gay rights activists and radical Muslims. “It's just like the Muslims,” Buttars told Cowan. “Muslims are good people and their religion is anti-war. But it’s been taken over by the radical side.”
Buttars claims he's “killed” every gay rights bill in the legislature for the last 8 years. He talks about marriage equality being the beginning of the end.
“What is the morals of a gay person?” Buttars asks. “You can't answer that because anything goes.”
Finally, this is how Senator Buttars refers to what he calls the “radical gay movement”:
“They're probably the greatest threat to America going down I know of.”
In the interview, Senator Buttars suggests that gay people practice “pig sex” and agrees with the interviewer when asked if he means to say that the gay community engages in sexual acts that include defecation, group sex, and bestiality.
