There is a “No on 8” candlelight vigil planned for Wednesday March 4 in the evening, leaving the Castro at 6:00 pm going down Market to the Supreme Court Building. The following morning, from 9-12 am, the California State Supreme Court justices will be hearing oral arguments pro and con Prop 8.

I am organizing a group of LGBT Mormons and beloved allies to join in as a contingent for the vigil on Wednesday evening.

If you can make it, please let me know (by email or phone) so that I expect you, and then meet outside the Castro Starbucks at 18th and Castro (4094 18th) between 5:30 and 5:45 for a 6:00 pm departure time. Bring a sign, a candle in a plastic cup, and your dancing heels. I will be providing a large banner saying “LGBT Mormons & Allies for Marriage Equality.”

Gay LDS filmmaker, Reed Cowan of Florida will be joining us with his video camera. Cowan is doing a documentary on LDS involvement in Prop 8. Cowan caught Utah Sen. Chris Buttars saying nasty, homophobic things on camera, and now Buttars is under intense criticism from the Utah public.

AND PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD TO OTHERS OF LDS BACKGROUND!!
