Daniel Holsinger and Jay Christianson to Marry
They Met in 2004 at a Family Home Evening

July 2009

Returned missionaries Daniel Holsinger and Jay Christianson have just announced that they will marry July 18 in Plum Island, Massachusetts. The couple, who have been together for five years, are active in the gay rights movement, and three years ago they were featured in a Nightline story about gay Mormons.

Jay and Daniel met in the fall of 2004 at Daniel’s home, where he held a Monday night Family Home Evening group for gay young adults and friends. During their first movie date (I Heart Huckabees), Jay wasn't out yet so they held hands under the jackets they had laid across their laps. After that, the lovebirds saw each other almost every day over the following weeks and never really let up. By the summer of 2005 they were madly in love, and Daniel finally popped the question. This will be their fifth summer together, and they look forward to many, many more.

We congratulate Daniel and Jay on this important step and we wish them love, peace, and happiness for many years to come.
