Gay Men’s Choir Rehearsing in Utah County
First Rehearsal Will Be September 11 at UVU

A men’s choir open to all men who are interested in performing under the banner of Utah County Gay Men’s Choir will be holding its first rehearsal on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at Utah Valley University (Sorensen Student Center #206) at 9:00 AM.
“Utah County Gay Men’s Choir aims to increase the opportunities for gay men to be involved in creative and artistic expression and to experience the support of the Utah County community” says choir director Lisa Tensmeyer Hansen. “This mission may help protect choir members otherwise affected by negative social stigma and may have a direct effect on the mental health of gay men in our community as well as provide quality music for the ears and hearts of listeners.”
The choir will perform in the tradition of gay men’s choirs across the US, drawing repertoire from all musical styles and periods, including traditional TTBB (Tenor 1, Tenor 2, Bass 1/Baritone, Bass 2) literature and contemporary music. LDS hymns and songs will also be programmed.
