Hi – my name is AleX Dean. I am the new Director of the Transgender and Intersex Issues. I am a 51 year old FTM (Female to Male) transman. I began my transition in the summer of 2006. Prior to my transition, I lived as a lesbian for the majority of my adult life. I spent 20 of those years in a committed lesbian relationship. It wasn’t until about 4 years ago that I realized that it was actually possible to physically transition from female to male without loosing everything.

I am fortunate to live in Portland, Oregon, where there is a large LGBT community, and an active local Affirmation group. I enjoy bicycling, hiking, football, gardening, good coffee, and my cats, Lucy and Ethel.

I am excited to have the opportunity to serve in this position. I encourage you to contact me with your wants, needs, ideas, dreams, etc. for our TGI community. I look forward to us all building a stronger community.
